Bugatti Chiron Facts, Specs & Price

If you take a look at the top 10 most expensive cars of 2017, you will be able to see the name of Bugatti Chiron taking the first place. The impressive specs of this car have contributed a lot towards its price tag. The fundamental powertrain and proportions of Bugatti Veyron can be found in this supercar. However, they have been improved in all conceivable ways. In addition, this car has been manufactured to bend the theories of physics to their breaking points.

The Bugatti Chiron has been provided with a gasoline powered engine. In fact, the engine of this supercar is a new version of the 8.0-litre W16 quad turbo engine, which you saw in the Bugatti Veyron. The seven-speed twin clutch gearbox has been strengthened before introducing it to the Bugatti Chiron. Just like the Veyron, the Chiron also has the ability to provide plenty of power through all its wheels. As per the CEO of Bugatti, Wolfgang Durheimer, the team didn’t want to come up with a hybrid because it would add additional weight.

The Bugatti Chiron is in a position to produce 1108lb feet of torque and 1479bhp. These figures are much better when compared to its predecessor, the Veyron. If you continue to drive this car at its top speed for 9 consecutive minutes, the entire fuel tank would drain. It has the ability to accelerate from 0mph to 62mph under 2.5 seconds. In addition, the Chiron can reach a speed of 186mph within just 13.6 seconds. These figures clearly show that the Bugatti Chiron is much faster when compared to the other supercars such as the Mclaren P1. The top speed of the Chiron measures at 261mph.

In the engine bay, you would find four large turbos, which are responsible for catering the power requirements of the engine. In fact, these turbos can deliver 70% higher torque than the actual operational range of the engine. This car also comes along with six different titanium exit pipes. Four of them can be seen sticking out from the back, whereas the other two are pointed downwards.

Almost all the features that you can see in the Bugatti Chiron are super-sized. For example, this car comes along with an improved air cooling system, which has the ability to give out 60,000 litres of air within a minute. The coolant pump is also in a position to distribute 800 litres within a minute.

It is important for a supercar like the Bugatti Chiron to be equipped with big brakes. As a result, the engineers have introduced 2mm thicker and 20mm larger discs to the front and rear wheels of the car. These discs are made out of carbon silicon carbide, which shows an enhanced resistance towards fade.

With all these features, the Bugatti Chiron comes at a massive price tag of $2,998,000. Therefore, only the supercar enthusiasts will be able to go ahead and spend their money to purchase this car.
